Chris Mann

If you have followed my blog you might remember that I did a post about Chris Mann after BlissDom in February of this year. He is a great singer with lots of personality and likes to woo us bloggers!!
He sang at the People’s Party the first night of BlogHer. He had a table set up and I went up to him to ask if when his CD was coming out. He said to me, “I remember you, you were at BlissDom.” I do have to say that I was surprised…and pleased. (ok…let’s hope its not because I am like this freak tall old woman who drools all over when I hear him sing? LOL)

Anyway….to get on with my story… I told him I would like another picture with him before the weekend was over because I had such “bug eyes” when I got a picture with him and @alihooper at BlissDom.

(Yes..embarrassing picture…) So nice guy that he is, he says to me, “Well let’s just get it right now.” So he moves his table and comes out with me to get the first picture above with me in the orange jacket. And of course I have the “bug eye” thing going again!! I don’t know why…I keep doing it in pictures lately. Trying to give myself an eye lift maybe?

But I did find out his CD comes out on August 11th! Also the itunes download etc… (I don’t understand all that other stuff….amazonmp3, rhapsody etc..) But it comes out on all those formats on AUGUST 11th!

After I left that party I saw a few woman with these T-shirts that said Mann Crush. I asked them where they got them and they said that Chris gave them to them. I thought….hmmmm I really WANT one of those. After declaring myself a true Mann Fan it seems only fitting doesn’t it? {picture me running back…. kicking woman out of my way and screaming through the crowd…”I have to get a Mann Crush T-shirt..outta my way!!” heard of the swag stories at BlogHer..but did you hear about the Mann Crush T-shirt stories? LOL }
Actually, I saw him later and asked him about the t-shirt. He said he was out of them but he would save me one and give it to me at BowlHer 2 nights later..but I needed to send him a direct message on Twitter to remind him. (I sent 2)
BowlHer night comes…it was a great party by the way. He came over sat down and told me he had brought me the shirt..and he would get it for me in a few minutes. He got called away. {Saved by the bell}

A little bit later I saw him talking to a Bantering Blond and @childhood (they are sooo nice by the way) and I walked up to wait my turn. (It did remind me of the Bachelor show…crack myself up!) Anyway…he got up to get my shirt and I had to get another picture of him with my shirt (and the BowlHer boa) and do my best not to “Bug My Eyes” out. I’m shameless!

Seriously…you do need to go listen to some of his music on Chris Mann Music and you too can become a Mann Fan… and no sorry, …I’m not giving away my Mann Crush T-shirt!
Thanks Chris for being such a real guy and being so nice to us older drooling mom bloggers! Next step…To become one of your official Mann Boo! (LOL)

Rubbermaid Plastic Food Storage

I have been very pleased with this set of plastic food storage containers.
There are several really nice features that an organizer would have to love.
I think the one that I like the best is the fact that you can snap the lid onto the bottom of the container when you aren’t using it. No more lost lids right!?

If you do that with all your lids you can still stack them like this:

The other option for stacking is just nesting them…which they do very nicely and you can still store lids underneath.

This is the Stay Fresh container that keeps fruits and vegetables fresh longer by circulating the air and keeping them off the bottom of the container. The inside piece also snaps to the bottom for no loss storage.

There are 4 different kinds of containers with lids in this package. There is also this version with the snap on lid and there are the clear plastic pieces that have the black flexible lids. These all have great seals on them so you know your food is going to stay as fresh as possible while in these.

So you get a variety of the different kinds all in one set of 20. Gotta love it!

Tall Woman

Tall Girls at Blogher 2009

First of all you need to get some perspective of this photo.
I am 5’10” tall. I am almost always the tallest woman in a room! For some reason both at Blissdom and Blogher I did not feel uncomfortable. I had some tall blogger company!! I was standing at the Nikon party behind these two woman and I interrupted them to tell them, “I just have to get a picture with the two of you, you are so tall…I love it!”.
We are all standing flat footed. I do not think either of them had on heels..I know I did not.

They were so sweet to take a picture with me..a total tall stranger.

This is my buddy Kim from Crafty Mama of 4. I met her in person at Blissdom and then again at Blogher.
I love feeling shorter than other woman. I know it sounds dumb as so many ladies would love to be taller. Here is a secret…when I was in school I would be the first to take off my roller skates at skating parties. Just so I could walk around in my socks while others were still in their skates and were taller than me. LOL
Sorry tall ladies if you find me hanging around you at future Blogging conventions….it just makes me feel good to “fit” in and see other woman face to face.

Blogher 09 – The Nikon Party

I have to admit being invited to the Nikon party was the highlight of the trip for me. I didn’t get a direct invite from Nikon (I wish) but I did get an invite from Mommy Brain Reports  (Monica) and that was just as thrilling. She was one of the VIP invited and extended her guest invite to me! (Thanks to Beth from The Plus Size Mommy)
This is Sugar Jones from Sugar in the Raw on the left and Monica in the center. We were in line here for the limo’s to take us to the party at the Flatwater Restaurant  in Chicago.
That is Monica to my right. (She was a wonderful date! LOL).
I hate to say that I do not remember everyone’s names so I apologize and if anyone sees these pictures and can fill in names for me…it would be greatly appreciated! Everyone was really nice though.
Sugar is the 2nd one in, then Danielle from Danielle Smith TV , Arianne from To Think is To Create, and Lori from A Cowboy’s Wife.  I felt very special to be in the same limo with these wonderful bloggers!

Monica had a scheduled interview with Carson Kressley (from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and How to Look Good Naked) when we first got there. Beth from Plus Size Mommy also got to interview they did it together. I was happy to snap pictures during it.

It was also special to get a picture with him myself.

The Flatwater Restaurant was wonderful! We took an elevator down to the restaurant and there was an outdoor patio with bar and seating. That is Can Can from Mom Most Traveled getting a massage.
Chair massages, hair and makeup stations and a red carpet to walk and get pictures with Carson was the highlight for many. Sugar is looking beautiful!! (not that she isn’t in the first place)

Oh…here go my “bug eyes” again…LOL

I had a great time talking and getting to know Monica and Melissa from Consumer Queen.  They are both just soooo sweet! Both of them are Walmart 11 Moms  and could have acted like they were “too good to hang out” with little ol’ me. But did they? No…they were wonderful to me and treated me with total respect. They are sooooo cool!! (#jeff)

Here we all are again along with Kim from Crafty Mama of 4. She has been nothing but nice to me from online to Blissdom to Blogher.

Here is a photo of me with Vdog from Vdog and Little Man…she was one of the famous Elevator 13 drama with me!!

Blogher 09 – Day 2

I started off going to the “Newbie” breakfast. I had Sara Patterson from Label Daddy recognize me and she introduced me to Toni Patton and Miranda Kuskie. They asked me to eat with them…(that is soo nice when people do that)

I had done a review on the Label Daddy it was really fun to see who I had been e-mailing and talking to on Twitter.

I walked all through the Expo Hall and got to visit all the vendors.
This is Nina from Sprout. I have to say that I do not know the show, but I thought the triplets would know it..and thought it was fun she was there.
The All detergent Fairies…what a riot!

Blogher 09 in Chicago

I arrived by airplane about 11am to Chicago O’Hare airport. Found the shuttle to the Sheraton Hotel and Towers without any problems.

I met my roomie Military_Mom aka Shellie and I am a lucky person! For not meeting before in person I think being her roommate will be a lot of fun. I think we are getting along great. (Now ask us on Sunday and it may be another story. LOL..nope..I don’t think so.)
This is the view out our room on the 20th floor!! Cool huh? And if we look out and across we can see Lake Michigan and all the boats. (Looks like an ocean…makes me think I am some place tropical. LOL)
Ok…Miliary Mom and Miliary Mama are friends (go figure right?) and so they have had me tagging along with them to all these parties.

This is the Socialux party. Both Shellie and Tara had registered for this early and did not end up getting their swag bags (goodies bags..these had cameras in them!)
Lots of people, food and drinks. Great sponsors…Kodak, Swiffer, Lego, Landsend, Eye-Fi and several others. Chris Mann also sang. He was in Blissdom and loved his music..(not to mention he is sooo cute and actually seems really nice!)
Ok…get this. We had this at the Hyatt downtown Chicago. This was the same place that the President was. There were secret service everywhere….people dressed up waiting in lines to go to …what I guess was a fund raiser. That added a little excitement to the mix.

The People’s Party was next right here in our hotel. Lots of people and look at the swag bags.

Chris Mann was was here and I got his picture. I am going to give him a whole post because I think he deserves it…later today. (hopefully if I can get back on the internet…has been an ordeal so far.)

This is the last party I went to…if this picture gives you some idea of what it was like. It was the Room 704 party. I met the ladies who put this on when I was at Blissdom. We actually got stuck in an elevator for 45 minutes. They are a hoot. They were staying in room 704 there..and had a big party in their room. So they decided to repeat it..but it was sooo big they had to have it down in one of the lobbies. They gave away some very interesting swag bags (can you say vibrators ladies?). Nope…I didn’t get one..we came in a few minutes too late again. was a very interesting evening.

Packing for BlogHer

Make a List To Travel To A Blogging Conference.

Are you going to Blogher? I am and I am so excited. I have a list of all the things I have to pack. Problem for me will be trying to get it into one suitcase that isn’t too big for the airlines. I am flying United and I have to pay $15 for the first bag and $25 for the second. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but coming and going it will add up!
I am also going to be selling pouchees at the Swap Meet (Make sure you stop by….they will be on a “BLOGHER SPECIAL” and without shipping cost when you buy from my table.)so I sent my pouchees ahead of time. So that is one less thing to worry about.
On the #GNO twitter party last night I said something about making a list and someone said she didn’t have time to make a list. What? I can’t imagine all the things I would forget if I had not been making the list along the way remembering all the little things.

Here are a few examples of the things that I think would be very easy to forget.

*Power cord for phone
*Power cord for laptop
*Charger for phone and download cable for camera to computer.
*Extension cord (to plug in during sessions if you aren’t right by an outlet)
*power strip
*Mini video camera and batteries or charger
*business cards
*Confirmation numbers for flights/hotel reservations
*Blogher confirmation, party information
*swim suit
*extra cash

Those are just a few of the easy things I think there would be to forget. Of course all your clothes, shoes, undergarments would already be on the list.

Magnetic Boards by April

I have to admit that I am totally in love with the magnetic board that April made me to review. So much so that I don’t even have it with me to do get pictures and do this review. Why you ask? Because I packed it yesterday and sent it to Blogher. I am going to use it on my table to sell my pouchees. I will use it to display the business cards of my sponsors!
I have a picture with it in it…not the greatest pic..but you can still see how cute it is!

You can get tins to put your paperclips, rubberbands etc… in to keep organized.

You can hang them or use them as a standing magnetic board with the cute wooden stand she includes (on standing models).

Peter Walsh’s In Place System Review

Peter Walsh’s Office Supplies in Office Max

Peter Walsh is a guru of organizing. You have probably seen him on the Oprah Show as her organizing consultant. He has teamed up with Office Max to bring his new organizing system to all of us. It is called “In Place System“.

I got to take part in a web cast with him a few months ago and it was great. (You can see it here yourself)
This is a office organizing system that is designed to be simple, affordable and usable.
He makes folders clear so that you can easily see what is in them. He uses specially made sticky notes so that you can change labels as you need.
There are several components and you need to see them at your local Office Max.

I was also given some really fun and colorful folders and clips to use from Office Max. It is the DiVoga line of fun accessories. I love them. I use them for my children’s files that I keep current information in. It is fun to have something different than you plan old cream color folders.
The plastic snap folders are great too. I am using one to put all my BlogHer paperwork in. I am dividing up the 3 days schedules, confirmations and party schedules into the clear folders from Peter Walsh with sticky note labels and then putting them all into the fun snap closure folder from Office Max. Great combo!
The paperclips are just so cute and fun. I use them in a clear magnetic tin that I display on my magnetic board.

Bedroom Decorating

Remodeling A Teens Bedroom – Where To Start

You have decided you want to redo your teen’s bedroom? Your teen or almost teen has outgrown The Dora the Explorer or Scoobie Doo comforters and are begging you to make their room a little “older”.

Where do you begin?

Steps To Remodeling

1) Take a “Before” picture. I love before pictures…it lets you see how far you have come once you finish the project.

2) Decide on your budget. This is important BEFORE you go shopping for anything. It will determine if you are shopping at a high end store or garage sales.

3) Get some graph paper and figure out your scale. 1 square = 1 foot or 2 squares = 1 foot. Measure your room dimensions and then measure any furniture that will be staying in the room. Then you can cut out the pieces and play with different arrangements in the room.

4) Pick a theme / colors for the room. (That is the fun part!)

5) Clear out the room and clean. Paint if you are going to paint

6) After you know how your furniture is going to fit into the space, then move the new or old furniture back into the room.

7) Add your new decor and you are done.

Be sure that when you take things out of the room…you go through your sorting process.

Boys Bedroom

Remodeling a Teenagers Bedroom.

A portion of my two teenagers bedroom.

Over the next couple of weeks I am going to take you on a journey with me. I am going to take a teenagers bedroom and overhaul it. Thanks to Walmart I have been given the opportunity to completely overhaul my teenagers bedroom. Now…for us we have two teenagers in this room. We gave the boys the options..and this is what they decided. The older of the two boys is going to get this room. The younger of the two (and he had the final decision) picked to move his room to an unfinished room in the basement. So not only do we have one bedroom to have completed (before Aug.7 by the way)…we are actually overhauling two rooms!!
In this room (which is about 10×12) there is the bunk bed set you see, two dressers and that is about it. So they are thrilled to be getting their own spaces.
Here is the deal that Walmart has offered me. This is sooo cool! They have a new line out in their stores for teenagers that is called “Your Zone”. You can mix and match from furniture to decor…and you can do it right on their web site. It is fun to play with.

But all you who are thinking how lucky I am to have this chance to change my teenagers room…guess what….YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE A CHANCE TOO!!!!!

Email Inbox – Does it Stress You Out?

Our E-mail can be as scary if not scarier than all the papers coming into our houses. We get junk mail, we get offers, we get pictures and letters, then more junk mail.
But sorting through it can be difficult.
I have to admit (as I did on my momtv show last night) that I am not an expert in this form of organizing. I think that might be because I am not techie at all and I am sure there are easier ways to do things on here that I am just not aware of.
Last night I had a great group of people who were teaching me a lot about different things that can help. You can see it if you go to this link on Mom TV
I have tried to still use the basic methods of sorting paper.
1) File
2) Action
3) Trash

To file you need files. So you need to make folders to put things in. I have learned to use the filter option for my inbox. So that things that I don’t necessarily have to read that day, newsletters etc. go directly into that folder. Then I try to look at it everyday and sort through it, but it is ok if I don’t get to it until 2 or even 3 days later. But then I clean it out as I go.

Several people have several e-mail addresses to sort their mail. I have 3 e-mails but it isn’t to sort my mail it is to keep business and personal separate. The 3rd is an old one that I have surveys and a couple point saving things I signed up for in.

I also may be the geek here in that I print out my important information. I have a notebook that I keep for my blogging and it just keeps my head clear of what I have to get done. I think this is because I am still old school at heart and I don’t have my head completely wrapped around keeping everything in my computer folders. I hope to get to a point where I do not feel I need my notebook to feel like I have everything in control.

Zucchini Recipe

Using Captain Crunch Cereal


We got these zucchini out of our garden. Alex was out measuring it each day and discovered it was growing about a 1/2 inch a day. He was thrilled to go out and pick the first 2!


1 large zucchini
2 eggs
1/2 c milk
2 c Captain Crunch cereal (or off brand)
1/2 c flour
olive oil


Slice the zucchini.

Crush the cereal in a plastic bag until pretty fine. Put in bowl and add flour.
Stir mixture. (These amounts are approximate as I did not measure. I added the flour because the cereal alone was not sticking well, so you can play around with the amounts). Put this bowl aside.

In another bowl mix eggs and milk. You can salt and pepper to taste.

Heat the olive oil in a sauce pan on medium heat.

Dip the zucchini into the milk/egg mixture.
Dip into the cereal/flour mixture and cover both sides.

Place in oil and cook on both sides until brown.

Place on paper towels to soak up the extra oil. Then serve. Yummy!

Organizing Office Desk Drawers

Office desk drawers can often become office junk drawers with everything in them….and you can’t find a thing when you look.
You can easily change out a drawer with just a little organization and some drawer organizers.

There are many places that have drawer organizing units, from The Container Store to Target…but you really don’t need anything elaborate. You can find little baskets at the dollar store. You can use ice cube trays to separate out paper clips, rubber bands, etc. The boxes that your checks come in make great little organizers.

Just use your sorting skills as you go through your things.
1)Keep – Use it, love it, want it
2)Donate – Don’t want it, can’t use it, do not like it (but someone will)
3)Move – Goes into a different room or space
4)Storage – Seasonal
5)Trash/Recycle – Broken, torn, can not donate

Go through the zazillion pens that are in your drawers and test them. Get a piece of scrap paper out of your trash/recycle and test each and every pen. If it doesn’t write right away then pitch it. If it is a marker and is dim..pitch it.
You can make a bag of pens to go in the car, take with you to your office or donate them if you have too many.
Use the baskets and separate your items so they are “like with like”.

Simple as that you can have nice looking desk drawers and will be able to open them and actually find things.

Office Organizing

Colors are important to most of us. They can affect how you feel, how you think. You want your office to be fun to go into. Make you feel productive and happy. What colors make you feel good? What ones do you love?
If you notice in my office I have bright colors…but I didn’t paint the walls, I didn’t add expensive curtains or carpet. I got cubbies in the colors I liked and made my own “Ikea” tower with the cubby units from Target. (Love cubbies!!)
I also added pails that I found at a garage sale and the little ones from Target. I have a hot pink magnetic board on my desk (an upcoming review and giveaway by the way).
If I go into another color mode..I can change it up real easy.
But when I walk into my office it just makes me feel happy!

Mini Office

If you have a home or small apartment that is “office challenged” then you can find a place to call your own. Here are some ideas

1)If you have a chair you sit in routinely in the living/family room, you can set one up there. You just need a side table where you can set up your sorter like in the picture above.

This shows the whole thing. I got two of the cubby units from Target and hooked them together for my table. I have 4 compartments to use. Two on the front side that I use a cubby basket for my trash can, then the other 3 are for books. (The other 2 slots are on the back side)
I have a portable file (Hecht of an Organizer) that I use for my business files. If we have company over I can pick it up and move it out of site.

I then have this over the arm organizer that holds pens/calculator, plugs for my camera and phone, chargers and a flat top surface that I usually have my Blogging notebook sitting on.

2) Closet not being used. Take off the door (it can be left on, you will probably just have to move your chair out to close the door) and hanger rod. You can paint the inside to make it look cute. You can build in a shelf for your desk. You can add some more shelves above it on the wall for storage of your items. On the right and left hand walls you can put up a magnetic board, bulletin board or more shelves. (I am picturing a single door coat closet when I talk about it)

3) An old wall unit or armour not being used can be used for an office.

4) Under the stairs storage area. Paint it, put in a light and desk. There is storage on the steps above (make shelves there) and on the side walls.

Be creative…think outside the box. A corner of your family room maybe that you can put a small table or corner desk may work.
If you have a kitchen counter top that you can steal a corner of.

Parade of Homes

Home with a 250 sq.ft Family Organizing center!


The  BIA Parade of Homes in Dublin Ohio is being held in Tartan Ridge subdivision.
This is a house you have to see if you happen to be in the Central Ohio area in the next couple of weeks. Romanelli and Hughes built this home and their head designer Sarah Schnulo designed this area. She told me that they had this 250 sq ft. area to work with and she and another designer with a total of 7 children between the two of them designed it. There is a secondary washer and dryer (main one is on the 2nd floor) to wash sports uniforms when the kids come in from their games. They have a hamper to throw them in. There is a seat to take off shoes, shoe cubbies, hooks for coats and book bags and a walk through pantry!!

The garage is outfitted by Premier Garage as only an organizer might fully appreciate…well..I bet many husbands would too.

The children’s bedrooms have a built in desk rather than a window seat. I think this is a much more efficient use of this space.
The house is designed in zones. There is a children’s zone with their own back staircase that leads from their bedroom area down to the basement kids game room.

They even use the space under the staircase with built in shelves.

Ok…I am going to mop up the drool now. I love this house!! There are features everywhere that just make it an awesome house that any Professional organizer would just die to own.
I also went through another home by M/I Homes that has one heck of a woman’s closet!!

BIA Parade of Homes

I was lucky enough to be contacted and asked to come see a preview of the BIA Parade of Homes in Dublin, Ohio before it opened.
I am thrilled to be able to share a couple of the homes with you. What I am so absolutely thrilled with is that most all of these builders are incorporating “organizing” components into their homes. I am going to keep my commentary down as there is so many neat pictures to show! I will give you the links to the info pages on the two homes that I show case their organizing specialties.
This first home is a home by M/I Homes. (Above picture)
The organizational specialty in this house has to be the woman’s closet! I’m not sure of the dimensions to this closet, but it could easily be a bedroom in many of our homes.

These closet doors open up to a mirror where you can see the front and back of your outfit. There are 3 windows in this closet and a chandelier! Keep in mind that these homes are still feverishly being worked on getting ready for judging. So the drawers that should be underneath are sitting on top of the window seats.

The man’s closet is dark wood and wonderful also.

Now this is an organizers dream home!! It is built by Romanelli and Hughes and Sarah Schnulo is designer extraordinaire!!
You walk from the garage that Premier Garages have outfitted into the Family Organizing Center….250 sq. ft of pure Organizer’s Love!!

This is the washing center. There is a washer and dryer stack unit in the family organizing center. The main laundry room is on the 2nd floor of this home, so this is just a bonus laundry center. It is meant to be used for those sports uniforms that come in dirty or wet snow clothes. You can take them off before you ever have to go upstairs. Directly across from the laundry center is your family command center. Calendars, places to put mail and bills, hook up for a computer…don’t you just love it!?

If you come in the garage door and look to your right this is what you will see.

Is this too cool or what?

This is where you can take off those jeans that you may have gotten mud on and throw in the dirty clothes hamper. The basket above may have your clean jeans folded in them, or your cloth cubby may hold your robe or pair of shorts.
When you come in from school, the jacket can go on the hook…sit down to take off your shoes and store them in the shoe cubbies and toss your hat in the cubby above.
You can hang your book bag on the hooks at the end of the hall.

Do you know what this is? Do you have any idea? It is a walk through PANTRY!!!
Yes…as you come in with your arms loaded with grocery bags you can walk through and unload them so you don’t have to carry them all the way into your kitchen. This backs up to the desk command center. It is like a big square in design. (keep in mind there were workers everywhere still putting up all the finishing touches on these houses..hence the ladder in the pantry)
I could go on with other pictures and features of this house. There is the storage shelves that are utilized under stairs, built in desk in the kids room. The house is divided into zones. The kids have a back stair case and their own game room with big screen tv and games. Go to my Organizing Blog to see some more pictures of this incredible house!
Loving this house!! Want this house….but for now I will just dream about this house!

Organize your office with “Zones”

Organize your office with Zones

This is my office. I share it with my husband, his desk is just to the right of mine. The office is small…but I am still happy we do have it.
If you do not have an office or anywhere you can call your office but want to make one you need to consider a few things.

1) Usability/Accessibility – if it is in the back of the basement, will you actually use it? It needs to be some place you will use it.
2) Heating and cooling (if you are thinking of a basement, extra room or so forth).
3) Convenience – Does it work for you and your family?

You may consider these areas –
1) Kitchen – Is there a section of counter in the kitchen that you could call your own and set up a mini office?
2) Family room – Could you set up a mini office by your chair. (post on Thursday will show pictures of my mini office)
3) Corner of a room that you could put a small table or corner desk?


If you have an office, or an area in the family room that you do your paperwork, or a table in your bedroom….you need to make “Zones”. Zones break down the office into what you need the most and use daily (Zone A) to items you don’t use very often and can store elsewhere in the room. (Zone C)

Ok…so artist I am not! But this gives you the idea of what I am talking about.
You are in the center (of course….isn’t it always about us?…LOL, sorry..goofy mood) and the circle closest to you is your Zone A.

Zone A – Things you use daily and need close at hand. You don’t have to move to get these items.
1) In box for papers
2) Pencils/pens
3) Tape
4) Phone
5) Stapler/Scissors
6) Letter opener
7) Sticky notes
8) Paper
9) Trash can
10) Calculator
11) Computer

Zone B – Items that you may have to roll your chair around to, but are still close and accessible. You do not have to get up out of your chair.
1) File cabinet
2) Printer/copier/fax
3) Shredder

Zone C – In the office, but you have to get up and walk to.
1) Office supplies
2) Extra file cabinet – maybe files you don’t access as often
3) Book shelf with reference books.

This gives you an idea of how I break it down. But you want to be efficient when you sit down to work in your office. You don’t need to jumping up and down or you may not get anything accomplished.

Office Make Over

Office Before and After

The dreaded “before” pictures of an office.

Then looking the other direction in this room you finally see the desk.

This client is a home builder and his business took off so fast several years ago that when he took over a bedroom in their home, they did not have time to clean it out first. Things just kept accumulating. He brought in pieces from a home (2 pantries and kitchen counter unit) thinking it would help him…but there was no organization in their use.

The AFTER Pictures:

This is the same space as in the very top photo. We took out all the kitchen counters and pantries. He still was going to frame the photos of the houses he built, he just put them up for an idea.
They painted the room once we got it cleared out. Looks wonderful.

This client built the table that sides up to his desk. He needed something to lay out house plans and be able to bring clients up to the other side to go over them with him. He had to use his dining room table before because he wouldn’t take anyone up to his office.

He wanted something for his house plans. He wanted to be able to lay out the house plans and not have them rolled up for the ones he was working on presently. This was kind of an unconventional use of these cubby units, but the actual house plan units were very expensive. I gave him the options and he loves this plan.

We also used the closet for storage. He needed house plans archived. We came up with the inexpensive idea to stack these boxes on top of one another to make up an economical solution to that problem.
