Stress

Doesn’t the word just make you cringe just a little?  Who likes stress? I don’t think anyone does? What good is it? None that I know of.

Causes of Stress:

1) Finances

2) Illness

3) Disorganization

4) Time Management

5) Over Commitment

Of course there are many other causes of stress, but these were the main categories I thought of.  We all know we have stress and it can effect us in many ways.  Some of us can’t sleep, sleep too much, can’t eat, over eat, get ill, can’t relax, get angry, yell….etc..

How to De-Stress

I can tell you here all the things that you SHOULD (and I should) do that prevents the problems that cause stress…like keeping a budget so we don’t have financial problems….and organizing your whole house so that you don’t have the disorganization that can cause you stress. But that is where most of us fall short. We know what we SHOULD do…it is just that we don’t or can’t do it. So what are my solutions to just simply De-stress ….not solve the problems..?  For me to help get the issues out of my head…the first thing I like to do is write down everything that is stressing me so I don’t forget to do it.

1) Eat some chocolate  (of course then we stress over weight….but that is another issue)

2) Take a warm bubble bath

3) Find a quiet spot away from kids and noise and drink a glass of hot chocolate or wine, read a book.

4) Take a nap

5) exercise (a form that I WISH I liked to do..however, at this point not something I do to relive stress)

These aren’t solutions to the problems causing the stress….but they are ways to help calm down from the stress, so you can think to deal with the stress.

I definitely relate to de-stressing via a glass of wine, and a hot bath! But I also find that id I can have a little “me time” in a week, it makes me less likely to stress out later. I always feel bad taking time away, but when I come back from my me time I always feel so much more calm, and appreciative of my family!

So excited to hear how your two recent bloggy conferences went Sandy! I am going to Blogher this year, so I’m trying to get travel, bloggy conference tips!

Thanks Shannon. I think you are definitely right….the time we use to “de-stress” will be a benefit to our loved ones (and ourselves) in the long run. …the hot bath and glass of wine are my favorites too…throw in some chocolate and that is a home run for me! LOL

I lose my self in my computer. Blog hopping leaves me stress free

  4. I’m with Shannon. To de-stress and let it all go, I drink red wine. It makes all the worries go away and puts a smile on my face:)
