Mabel’s Labels Review and Giveaway *CLOSED*

by Sandy on February 8, 2010

Mabel's Labels Bag Tag

Mabel's Labels Bag Tag

Labels? Do you think an organizer loves labels? Yes!! I first saw Mabel’s Labels at one of the conferences I went to. They actually made these bag tags for all of us. I use mine (I got 2) on my camera case and also my computer bag. I love labeling things….so a label company is certainly one that I will look into.

Uses for Labels:  (There really are zillions…but here are just a few. )

1) Clothing

2) School items

3) Electronics

4) Bins and Baskets in your home

5) Organizing anything: spices, crafts, work benches, cords, toys, kids…..

What did I think?

I got this great pack of labels with all 5 names of my kids on them.  It just so happened that within a couple of weeks of them sending me these to review I had to send my 16 and 17 year old off to Georgia with their Marching band to play at the Chick-Fil-A bowl.  Part of the written instructions were: LABEL EVERYTHING YOU BRING!!!    Wow….was I in luck.  I gave each of them their tag mates clothing labels and told them to go to it.  It was SO much easier than writing their names or initials on everything. Plus the fact that if you have a black or dark colored shirt, sometimes the tag in the shirt is dark too and you can’t see marker on it.   I have laundered the clothing they labeled many time since they returned over a month ago and I think I have only had one that looks like an edge is peeling. The others are staying on fine so far.

Love the Label Out Loud labels. They are cute…a nice size to see and they stick really well.  My 9 year old triplets  have them on their water bottles, their pencil boxes, and bike helmets.

There are combo packs, camp and school packs , Household labels, Stationary products and Kid Safety Labels and many other labels they make.

If there are negatives it might be that over time they might come off the clothing or item if they are wet enough or are in an area that would cause friction to peel it off.  But I only say that because I saw the one edge starting to peel on one of the many pieces of clothing my boys labeled. So far nothing has fallen off and no other ones have peeled.  So I have no real basis to think they would actually come off.

To Purchase Your Own:
Go to Mabel’s Labels and order them.

To Win:  A Combo pack with a name of your choice.

Go to Mabel’s Labels and tell me what 2 different kinds of labels you would get the most use out of. **Be sure to come back here and leave me a comment.  Your e-mail needs to be either on your comment or easily accessible in your profile.

For Extra chances to Win:

Becca goes to Blissdom 2010!

by Sandy on February 7, 2010

Rebecca Elkins from Collective Bias was scheduled to go to Blissdom this year. She was so excited and she was going to be my roommate. Then….that mommy thing happened. She had gotten confused on her daughters school performance…and instead of it being the 4th Friday in February…she found out it was Feb. 4th! What to do? What to do? She took the high road. She cancelled on Blissdom and went to her daughters performance. I can’t say I would have done the same. I would like to think I would. Yes, I would like to think I would…I’ll leave it at that.
But she LOVES Harry Connick Jr. and she knew he was going to be there to play for us. (So that killed her all the more.) She asked Kim @craftymamaof4 to hold up a piece of paper with her name on it if she got to take a picture with him.
Becca mentioned that to me and I started laughing..and then said, “Send me a picture of you and Kim and I will do a “flat Stanley” of you. So she sent me her picture. I printed it and then laminated it. What a riot it was. She had quite the trip!!
Follow Becca’s Blissdom journey…and as soon as some Blissdom Flicker pictures get loaded….you will see one very special picture added to this Whrrl Story
(Be sure to click on this first picture to see the whole slide show.)

Blissdom 2010

by Sandy on February 4, 2010

Last year Blissdom was my first conference. I was nervous and excited at the same time. I didn’t know if I would recognize people in real life because I knew them by avatar pictures and twitter names. Kim Janocko @craftymamaof4 was the first to recognize me! I was also amazed at how many tall bloggers there were. I felt right at home. I LOVED it!! Getting stuck in an elevator wasn’t even a deterrent this year. LOL
Hearing Chris Mann sing and meeting so many friends for the first time in real life. It was great. My 2009 story here.

So we are onto a new chapter this year….more bloggers…new location. The Opryland Hotel!
I will be adding pictures throughout the weekend….so they will be constantly changing.

I have to admit that when I first saw these names in regards to a sponsorship I had to question it. I said that I am trying to lose weight and I feel like it wouldn’t be right for me to promote products that obviously aren’t good on a diet. I was told there were products that are very low calorie and you CAN have them if you are watching your weight. These are products that you can use not just in trying to take those pounds off…but keeping them off.
Watch my Whrrl story by clicking on the first picture and see what I discovered.
You can check out each individual site here:

Disclosure: I am being sponsored by these companies for the Blissdom conference. They did not require me to buy their products or write a post. I am doing so because I feel very good about these products and being able to use them for weight loss and maintenance and I wanted to share it with my readers.

Mom TV – Let’s Talk Conferences

by Sandy on February 1, 2010

I_m-on-MomTV

Today on my Mom TV show I want to chat about conferences.  What conferences are you going to?  What do you like about them? What don’t you like?  Does there have to be DRAMA?  How can we help prevent or keep drama to a minimum?   What are you wearing?

And..of course I will reveal my big mess up with my Disney Social Media Mom Conference.  To prove that yes…even organizers can really mess up plans big time!

I am also going to be giving away a poken today on my show.  I received this great Poken in my Blissdom pre gift bag. I already have one myself, and don’t need another one…so I wanted to pass it on to one of you!

Genesis of a Great Idea Social Media Contest!

by Sandy on January 27, 2010

Powered by Whrrl

I had a great time this last 3 days! I left bright and early on Wednesday morning (6am flight) and got into Austin Tx before noon Texas time. Met up with some great bloggers and finalist.
We were educated by Dr. Rob and Dr. Lindsey on superfruits and where they come from, the process that Genesis Today uses to produce them, what they can do for us and how they do it. Of course we only were able to get the tip of the iceberg and we had zillions of questions.
I will be doing some more posts telling your things that I have learned. I know there is a lot of skepticism with the Acai berry, companies that are producing it and natural healing in general. Believe me, we asked lots of questions because we have heard the same things. We want to be sure we are not supporting something that isn’t completely up and up. None of us want to tell you anything that isn’t true or lead any of you down the wrong path.
I have no intention of ever standing behind something that I do not feel good about and I think I can safely say the same thing for the other ladies that were there with me from Collective Bias that were on this trip.
There are lots of pictures….enjoy!

Swiffer WetJet Review and Giveaway *CLOSED*

by Sandy on January 25, 2010

swiffer wet jetIf you have dirty floors then You too could use one of these! I have seen these before and never thought that much about them.  I did see them in action when I was at the BlogHer conference last July.  Again I thought….cool, looks neat. But I had a regular mop and didn’t know any reason I would need this.

I think I saw someone else’s post and thought….that looks really neat. I think I’d like to have one!  I ended up getting one from to try and really like it!  It is so convenient. You don’t have to go get the bucket and mop. Then pour in your floor cleaner, add water…mop….rinse….clean out mop and bucket and put all away.

Here is a perfect example.  It was snowy and wet and the kids came in with snowy, muddy boots on. The mess was confined  to my laundry room, and in a very small space..but getting a whole bucket of mop water seemed like such a pain. Swiffer WetJet to the rescue!! I simply reached for it behind the laundryroom door and I was ready to go!!

Picture 1: The muddy, snowy dried mess!

The Mess!

The Mess!

Picture 2: Just spray the floor solution!

Picture 3: A clean floor in about 2 minutes.

Clean floor in less than 2 minutes flat.

Clean floor in less than 2 minutes flat.

My son used this to do the upstairs bathrooms. I have used it for the kitchen. It is great for quick, clean ups.  I don’t know that I would want to be without a regular mop and bucket for the bigger cleanups or when you need that sponge to suck up a big spilled mess.  But for daily and fast mopping jobs…this is WONDERFUL!

To Purchase Your Own:

You can purchase one at most any store where you find cleaning supplies or you can purchase it online from Swiffer WetJet

To Win a Swiffer WetJet:

Go to Swiffer WetJet site and look at the product features tab. Tell me one of the product features (as they describe them).
