PlanetSafe Planner Review

Do you LOVE sticky notes? ..Then you will LOVE this planner

This PlanetSafe planner is great for all those sticky notes (I used the large ones but the small ones could work great too) that we tend to leave ourselves all over the place. This is the combo weekly calendar and prioritizer.
This would also make an awesome Command Center for the family. Use it where it can be the most use for everyone. I mentioned it in my post about command centers for special needs families…but every family can use a command center – a central location where anyone and everyone can know what is happening in the family.

What I like about this is that anyone can easily add something to the list. What I ultimately did with this was to cut the calendar section off and I have that posted in our eating area. The kids didn’t really have the access in my office and it was not getting the use out of it that it is now.
We have the kids karate schedule (soon to add football schedule), my son’s work schedule and I added my exercise schedule. This is not very full right now with the 7 of us….give it another month and it will be a mess! LOL
BUT….what I love is how easy it is for everyone to see. We could have a full calendar up..but the squares are usually too small to fit all this in. The karate schedule and my exercise schedule stay the same. So my son just adds in his new work schedule each week and it works well.

This is the bottom prioritizing section. I really didn’t use it too much myself..but I know this can really come in handy for many people. I use a notebook and write out my list of my priorities.
But I can see this being of more use to many people …especially being able to use the sticky notes..than the top section. It is all just personal choice.

I already had my magnetic strip with my baskets on my wall…so it worked perfect to hold my sticky notes and dry erase markers for the PlanetSafe Planner. There is a wall tray that you can buy that goes below the planner, it is made of the same material as the planner. I would prefer a something a little more stable than that..such as this magnetic strip…but it could work out in a temporary location, so that you have a place to put your sticky notes and markers.

This model is the Sticky Note planner ( there are many more to choose from) and it runs $21.95.

Disclosure: I did recieve this planner at no cost in order to do a review. I asked them if I could review it while at the NAPO convention. I am not taking part in the affiliate program, so if you purchase one of these, I will not be profiting in any way.

Time Management for the Special Needs Family

Schedules are Important

Time Management is everything for a Special Needs Child

If you had medications every 1-2 hours, G-tube feeds every 4 hours, dressing changes everyday, physical therapy 3 times a week, occupational therapy 2 times a week, a tutor coming everyday, oh…wait don’t forget you have an appointment with the neurologist and physical medicine this week…and you have to be sure to order supplies this week. I almost forgot the respiratory company is coming to check on the O2 concentrator on Wednesday.

That is just one piece of the puzzle that some families have to deal with – who have special needs children.  Just put that on top of your schedule and if you have other children who have ball games and play dates.  Can you imagine?  Until you are in the shoes of someone who has a medical fragile child ….you just have no idea how much they go through and how much they have to deal with.

Schedules?  Essential for survival in this situation.  Their children’s lives revolve around schedules with medication, treatments and appointments. That is why a command center like I mentioned in my last post would be needed – or a centralized computer calendar or home calendar.

If you know of someone with a special needs child – if you are able, reach out to them…see if they need some help or just a supportive ear. They are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Qlubb is wanting Moms to Be Smart and Simplify! I sure agree with that. They are calling it: Smart Mom’s 2010 Resolution:Simplify

I really like Qlubb. What is it? It is your own online organizational club tool. It is simple and basic and easy to use.

I am in a Tastecasting group and they were using the Qlubb to coordinate all the tastings. I loved it. They switched to something else and I don’t like it at all. I feel like I can’t find the information I am looking for and I have felt like I am out of the loop with the group now.
I set up a Qlubb for my Bunco group. There are 12 regular members and then we have about 7 or 8 subs, so this is perfect for us. We were always e-mailing each other and someone was always short an e-mail or two and would have to ask someone else to please forward the e-mail. This will solve that for us.
Check out the little video I did. Oh…the music will start just a second or two after it starts. It is a fun CD we play at Bunco to be crazy fun!

They have added some new features to Qlubb:
1) The ability to only email event participants (as opposed to the entire Qlubb.)
2) Event-less To-Do Lists.
3) HTML email. So now Qlubb reminders are easier to read and there is a opt-out link at the bottom of each.

To Win: Qlubb is offering a $10 Oriental Trading Post Gift Certificate to one lucky reader. (You can get a lot for $10 there)

Go to the Qlubb Demo and tell me 2 different reasons that Qlubb might be good for a goup you have or know of.   **Be sure to come back here and leave me a comment. Your e-mail needs to be either on your comment or easily accessible in your profile.
